In the first quarter of 2025, the top social apps in Nigeria on the Android platform demonstrated varied performance trends, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Facebook Lite maintained a stable presence with weekly downloads peaking at 255K in early January. However, there was a gradual decline towards the end of the quarter, settling around 186K. Active user numbers remained robust, fluctuating slightly but mostly staying above 7M throughout the quarter.

TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE showed strong weekly revenue figures, reaching approximately $70.5K in late February. Downloads exhibited a fluctuating pattern, with a notable dip to 97K in late February before recovering to 129K by the end of March. Active users consistently hovered around 9M, peaking at nearly 9.7M in the final week.

TikTok Lite - Save Data & Fast experienced a steady rise in weekly revenue, culminating at $2.9K by the end of March. Downloads saw a decrease from 144K at the start of the quarter to around 98K by the end. Active users remained fairly stable, with a slight dip in March, ending the quarter at approximately 4.8M.

The Pi Network app saw a significant spike in downloads mid-quarter, peaking at 246K in late February. Active users followed a similar trend, reaching over 5.1M before tapering off to 3.6M by the end of March.

Finally, Facebook continued to generate steady weekly revenue, averaging around $9K. Downloads decreased from 101K in early January to 89K by late March, while active users remained strong with numbers consistently over 16.5M.
